Surgical Technologist As a Surgical Technologist, you will join a collaborative perioperative team dedicated to precision, teamwork, and patient-focused care, all aimed at achieving outstanding surgical results. Your contributions will be vital in preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons and perioperative nurses during procedures, and ensuring that every patient receives safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Key Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms by organizing and ensuring the availability of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for scheduled procedures. Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to provide tailored, age-appropriate care for patients throughout their surgical journey. Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and organizational policies to ensure safe surgical outcomes. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon regarding instruments and equipment during procedures, adapting swiftly to any changes in surgical conditions. Assist the surgical team during both routine and complex procedures by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment with precision and care. Monitor the surgical environment to ensure that patients' physiological responses remain stable throughout the perioperative process. Support a safe operating room atmosphere by adhering to established risk reduction practices, including fire prevention and safety protocols related to laser and electrosurgical equipment. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and other perioperative team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. Ensure accurate preparation, organization, and turnover of surgical equipment to facilitate efficient workflow between procedures. Engage in departmental education, orientation, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives to uphold clinical excellence. Qualifications: To qualify for this Surgical Technologist position, you should be passionate about delivering safe, high-quality surgical care through technical expertise and teamwork. You must have completed a nationally or regionally accredited Surgical Technology program or possess a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or another recognized credentialing body. A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required, along with successful completion of departmental orientation and competency assessments.
