Material Handler I

Overview
The Material Handler I position supports the chemical production and aging process by preparing raw materials, transferring product into molds and bags, connecting hoses and fittings, handling repetitive physical tasks, and safely moving product through the production cycle. This role is highly hands on and requires mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast paced chemical manufacturing environment.

This position plays a key role in the early stage production process, including pouring chemical materials into molds and bags, transferring aging product into coffins, and supporting continuous production flow.

Responsibilities
• Pour chemical material into designated production bags and molds during the production process
• Transfer finished aged material from molds into designated coffins for downstream processing
• Connect and disconnect PVC hoses, fittings, and transfer lines used during chemical movement
• Monitor hoses and fittings to ensure secure connections and prevent leaks or product release
• Perform repetitive manual labor throughout the shift including lifting, pulling, pushing, and positioning materials
• Operate forklifts to move raw materials, coffins, pallets, and finished product throughout the facility
• Assist with loading and unloading production materials and supplies
• Support production flow and maintain continuous movement of product through the aging process
• Troubleshoot minor equipment or hose connection issues as needed
• Maintain safe handling procedures while working around chemicals and heated materials
• Follow all plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operational guidelines
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Assist supervisors and production personnel with additional operational tasks as needed

Qualifications
• Prior experience in manufacturing, production, chemical processing, or material handling environments preferred
• Forklift experience required
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Experience using hand tools and working with hoses, fittings, or transfer systems preferred
• Ability to perform repetitive physical work throughout shift
• Comfortable working around chemicals and industrial manufacturing processes
• Ability to lift, pull, push, and move heavy materials repeatedly
• Strong attention to safety procedures and operational awareness
• Ability to work in a team oriented manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to work in industrial manufacturing environments with heat, noise, and chemicals
• Ability to wear required PPE at all times
