Senior Product Engineer

Job Description

Qualifications:


• 5+ years in product engineering, mechanical engineering, product development, or related engineering roles.


• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) or equivalent experience.


• Advanced proficiency in drafting and modeling in SolidWorks. Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. AutoCAD is used occasionally.


• Thorough design and manufacturing knowledge of fabricated metals, extruded metals and plastics, cast metal, spun metal, welding, injection molded and vacuum formed plastics, and related manufacturing methods pertinent to commercial-grade lighting fixture parts.


• Common understanding of (or strong willingness to learn) interior and exterior LED lighting fixture design: required mechanics and technology, performance KPIs, thermal management, experience with IP-rated enclosure design and environmental testing, experience with wired and wireless lighting control systems and associated technologies (i.e. Lutron, nLight, Casambi, etc.).


• Knowledge of UL 1598 compliance and required testing, LM79/80 testing and analysis, etc.


• Revit and AGi32 knowledge is a plus. SolidWorks Composer knowledge is a plus.
