Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse in Artesia This position involves providing specialized recovery care for patients post-surgery in a fast-paced acute care setting. The role requires working within a team to manage patient needs effectively, interpreting telemetry, and supporting patients through their recovery process. Job Details Location: Artesia Shift Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with call responsibilities approximately once a week and one weekend call per month. Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, and PALS certifications; at least 2 years of PACU experience; ortho experience required; EMR: CPSI. Preferred Qualifications: Endoscopy experience is a plus. Responsibilities: Monitor and interpret telemetry strips without the assistance of technology technicians. Rotate between Preoperative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit phases, including discharge. Assist with transport and administrative tasks with PACU clerk support. Adhere to department-specific orientation and protocols, including completing required modules prior to floor work. Schedule: 8-hour shifts, with flexible start times between 0800-0900, with an option to assist as a second nurse during on-call and after-hours. Additional Information: The role may involve occasional floating to support clinical operations, especially during periods of low census.
