We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.JOB SUMMARYThe Forklift Operator Position will utilize the forklift to facilitate movement of product and materials in an organized and safe manner throughout the facility to maximize space and productivity.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Comply with Company Safety Policies and ProceduresWears assigned PPE in order to safely perform all job tasksWears steel-toed boot for the duration of work shiftMaintains a professional and positive attitudeReports any and all injuries to respective supervisor (s)Performs general housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and safe work areaAttends company sponsored training when necessaryReports to work daily and on time unless otherwise excusedAbides by all of Boral safety and/or quality policies and proceduresPerforms daily inspection on assigned forklift and notify appropriate personnel of all safety and maintenance issues prior to driving forkliftTransfers material throughout facility and store new product in designated areaSafely secures and loads flatbed and flatbed trucks as needed (where applicable)Follows company safety procedures pertaining to forklift safetyFollows all forklift safety procedures when replacing empty propane tanks on forkliftsWraps finished product for shipping (where applicable)Loading and unloading trucks with finished goodsMaintain and control loading zone securityRetrieves palletsPerforms other duties as assigned or neededRegular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibilityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAttention to detail and accuracyMust be able to read and write in English and/or SpanishAbility to receive and carry out instructions given by managementAbility to model desired behavior and conduct for all employeesMust be safe minded and alert during times of operationDemonstrated traits of honesty and integrity and ability to maintain confidential informationMust be able to perform simple mathematic functionsMust possess the ability to obtain forklift certification and have thorough knowledge of operating policies and proceduresEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following:Training or certification in relevant skills or trade1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant fieldESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to:Prolong standing or in stationary positionComplete repetitive movementsWear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)Lift/move/transport items up to 50 poundsAbility to move or traverse about the facilitiesAbility to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditionsThis is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
