EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SALES MANAGER WANTED IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITY

Pohanka Mercedes-Benz in Salisbury, Maryland is seeking an experienced, driven, results-oriented New Car Sales Manager to join our management team.

This is a leadership position for a proven automotive professional who understands how to manage people, desk deals, increase gross, drive volume, control inventory, develop salespeople, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

We are looking for a true automotive sales leader-not simply someone with a management title.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the new-vehicle sales department

• Forecast monthly and annual sales, gross-profit, volume, and expense objectives

• Hire, train, motivate, coach, and develop the sales team

• Establish individual and departmental performance goals

• Conduct effective daily and weekly sales meetings

• Desk deals and assist sales professionals in closing business

• Maximize front-end gross while supporting strong F&I performance

• Monitor leads, appointments, showroom traffic, closing ratios, and follow-up

• Ensure consistent CRM utilization and proper follow-up of every opportunity

• Develop and monitor prospecting and customer-retention programs

• Maintain a strong customer-focused sales and delivery process

• Monitor salesperson performance, productivity, commissions, and payroll records

• Work closely with F&I, used vehicles, service, parts, and accounting

• Assist with trade appraisals when necessary

• Review new-vehicle inventory daily to maintain the proper mix and maximize inventory turn

• Recommend appropriate inventory levels, models, equipment, and configurations based on market demand

• Develop incentive programs in conjunction with senior management

• Participate in dealership merchandising, advertising, and promotional strategies

• Maintain accurate sales activity and performance reports

• Ensure timely completion and submission of deal documentation

• Maintain high standards for vehicle presentation and customer delivery

• Work to continuously improve customer satisfaction and dealership performance

• Ensure compliance with dealership policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

• Attend management meetings and work closely with dealership leadership

• Maintain a professional appearance and leadership presence at all times

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Candidates should have:

• Proven automotive dealership sales-management experience

• Strong desking and deal-closing abilities

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a successful sales team

• Strong understanding of dealership financial performance, gross profit, volume, and expense control

• Experience managing CRM activity, internet leads, appointments, and showroom traffic

• Strong understanding of new-vehicle inventory management

• Ability to analyze sales and market data and make sound business decisions

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Strong customer-service and conflict-resolution abilities

• Ability to work effectively with senior management and all dealership departments

• Professional appearance and attitude

• Strong work ethic and commitment to accountability

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

• All licenses required by the State of Maryland

MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

We are looking for an established automotive professional with a successful track record in dealership sales management .

Luxury-brand experience is a major plus, and Mercedes-Benz experience is highly desirable , but proven automotive sales-management performance is what matters most.
