We are currently seeking a Offshore ETL Engineer (DBT SME) to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Role Overview

The dbt SME acts as the architectural authority for the target-state transformation layer, defining standards, patterns, and best practices for dbt development. This role is responsible for establishing the dbt project structure, enforcing modeling conventions, and ensuring consistent implementation of transformations, tests, and performance strategies. The dbt SME partners with Informatica SMEs to validate translation approaches and supports Data Engineers through code reviews and technical guidance, ensuring scalable, high-quality dbt delivery across multiple migration waves and parallel business units.

Key Responsibilities

· Define and govern dbt project structure (staging → intermediate → marts)

· Establish dbt standards: naming, testing, materializations, macros

· Design incremental models and snapshot strategies (non-CDC)

· Perform code reviews and ensure consistency across SWP and IMS

· Optimize dbt performance and warehouse execution

· Guide Data Engineers on best practices and reusable patterns

Required Skills & Experience

· 5–7+ years SQL-based transformation experience

· 3+ years hands-on dbt Core or dbt Cloud

· Strong data modeling (dimensional / analytics models)

· Experience integrating dbt with orchestration tools

· Git-based development and CI/CD experience
