The General Production Worker supports large-scale dumpling and food production by preparing ingredients, operating machinery, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. This role requires careful adherence to procedures, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both as part of a team during production and independently during prep work.

Shift: 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday

Pay: $19/hr

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for dumpling and other food production in a large-scale environment.
• Operate machinery to produce soup dumplings and additional food items according to established procedures.
• Maintain proper sanitization and organization of tools and equipment in compliance with USDA standards.
• Follow company standard operating procedures related to human safety, food safety, and quality assurance.
• Work collaboratively as part of a production team and perform prep tasks independently when required.
• Adhere to detailed instructions and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Use personal protective equipment correctly, including hair nets, beard nets, lab coats, gloves, cut-resistant gloves, and ear protection when required.
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap before starting work and after using the restroom, and maintain hygienic practices throughout the shift.
• Avoid eating, gum, or drinking on the production floor to ensure customer safety.
• Ensure no glass or brittle plastic is present in production areas to prevent contamination risks.
• Remove all jewelry and removable cosmetics before entering production areas to avoid food safety hazards.
• Report illness promptly, communicate with leadership, and leave the production floor when sick to protect food safety.
• Escort and sign in visitors as required to maintain security and safety standards.
• Follow parking and arrival guidelines to ensure punctuality, including using nearby street parking when the main lot is full.
• Adapt to varying temperatures and wet conditions in different production areas and remain prepared for physical work in a dynamic environment.

Essential Skills:

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in areas where floors may be wet and clothing or footwear may get dirty.

• Familiarity with general labor tasks such as material handling, packing, packaging, and inventory support.
• Experience using RF scanners or similar equipment in a production or warehouse setting is beneficial.
• Readiness to comply with strict hygiene requirements, including removal of jewelry and removable cosmetics before work.
• Comfort wearing personal protective equipment such as hair nets, beard nets, lab coats, gloves, cut-resistant gloves, and earplugs.
• Willingness to work a weekday PM shift (approximately 2:30 PM 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday) and additional hours as business requires.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a busy food production facility focused on large-scale dumpling and prepared food manufacturing. Employees work primarily on a weekday PM shift from approximately 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with additional hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays as business needs require. Temperatures vary by area, so team members should be prepared to wear layers for comfort. Floors and work areas may be wet during production and sanitation, and clothing and footwear can become wet or dirty. The facility follows strict hygiene and safety protocols: employees must wear clean clothing, avoid fuzzy garments and shorts, and use closed-toe shoes. Fragrances, perfumes, and colognes are not allowed because scents can transfer to food products. All jewelry and removable cosmetics, including rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, fake eyelashes, and fake nails, must be removed before entering production areas; secure storage such as ziploc bags is available if needed. Personal protective equipment is required and provided, including hair nets, beard nets (white or blue, with red only for specific allergen work), navy blue lab coats (reusable or disposable), gloves, cut-resistant gloves when working with knives, and earplugs, especially near loud equipment such as spiral freezers. Employees must wash hands with soap before starting work and after using the restroom, and they must change gloves after touching non-food surfaces or trash. Eating, drinking, and chewing gum are not permitted on the production floor, and glass or brittle plastic is not allowed in production areas. Visitors must be signed in and escorted at all times. Parking can be busy at peak times, and employees may use nearby street parking and cross at the designated crosswalk to arrive on time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sumner, WA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
