Warehouse Utility LTO

Position Overview: This position is responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse. Essential functions include adhering to the normal work schedule, working necessary overtime, complying with company attendance policy, having reliable transportation, completing daily lift inspections on PIT, transporting pallets by forklift, following procedures for locating and removing pallets from rack locations, completing building supplies paperwork, verifying and turning in pallet inventory paperwork, wrapping loose product and pallets, taping and/or removing damaged products and packages, completing damage forms, sweeping and disposing of trash material from the floor, emptying trash cans from the warehouse floor into the hopper, checking trash cans at end of aisles throughout plant, following procedures for dumping the hopper, securing and releasing trailers from the dock doors, emptying trash cans from outside employee parking lot and break areas, maintaining water stations in breakrooms, unloading pallets from flatbed trailer to be staged in designated areas, replenishing wrap lines with empty pallets, checking and emptying recycle centers in the break room, emptying recyclables into the designated recycling dumpster, checking and removing trash from around dock doors, disposing of broken wood and destroyed pallets into the dumpster, collecting wooden toppers throughout the warehouse and staging in rework area, reporting unsafe conditions to the supervisor, reporting any spills or leaks immediately, safely disposing sharp objects properly in dumpsters, checking dumpster and trash compactor levels, running floor scrubber as needed, cleaning out scrubber after each use, removing empty pallets throughout the warehouse, and performing other duties as assigned by Management.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk and stand for the duration of a shift, lift up to 50 lbs., mount/dismount lift truck repeatedly throughout shift, work in a warehouse environment which may range in temperature, and cooperate with team lift as needed.

Knowledge/Skills: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must be able to operate all PIT when needed. Must be able to operate the bailor, trash compactor, and floor scrubber. Must be able to attach/detach the hopper properly from PIT. Must be able to operate the Pedestal wrapper.

Tools, Equipment, & Material Requirements: Responsible for maintaining safety equipment issued including but not limited to; safety glasses, gloves, vests, scissors and propane changing PPE. Responsible for maintaining housekeeping supplies (Brooms, Dust pans, shovel...etc.)

Safety/Training Requirements: Follow red cone procedure for dock safety. Must complete E-Learnings as required. Must follow trailer securement/release procedures. Complete interior & exterior trailer inspections. Must have trailer securement training. (Jackstand, Gladhand lock, and Power chocks) Must adhere to hard surface pallet handling procedures. Must adhere to all rack rules. Must complete Lift Truck Operator training program. Must complete all SAFE required training, quality training and/or other job-related training. Must wear required PPE. Must understand and follow traffic flow for safe operation. Annual FTZ training.

Safety & Security Requirements: Always maintain a safe and clean work area. Report all accidents and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately. Must always wear Shaw issued work badge visible. Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations. Must comply with all Shaw Savannah policies & procedures.
