HR Business Partner

Human Resources Business PartnerSpire is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to work onsite in our Kansas City, Missouri office. This position will be responsible for consulting with local and regional leaders throughout Missouri, within assigned business units, as well as providing guidance and support to the business across all areas of Human Resources.Duties and Responsibilities:Function as an internal consultant to management and others by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, proposing solutions, and understanding/representing the employee perspectiveProvide day to day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) to the business across a breadth of areas including employee relations, change management, employee development and performance assessmentManages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations including claims of discrimination and harassment, and serves as a resource for employees with related questions and concernsDrive an inclusive culture throughout the organization using data, metrics, and industry best practices. Support EEO and Affirmative Action initiatives, assuring that training, communications, and policies are in place and are effectively functioning to address areas of under-utilization and assure compliance with corporate objectivesProvide guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning.Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions and work with the business to ensure plans are actively in practiceAssist with labor relations initiatives, assuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and NLRB legislation, including contract preparation, negotiations, and interpretationMaintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.Keep abreast of current HR legislation and trends and assist in the updating of programs as requiredAll other duties as assignedEssential Characteristics:Ability to lead by example in support of the company's essential characteristics and values: strong ethics and integrity, dedication to a safe work environment, commitment to an inclusive workforce that recognizes and respects every individual's unique skills and perspectivesAbility to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesAbility to adapt in a fast-moving and changing cultureStrong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of peopleAbility to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlinesStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude for this dynamic environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareRequired Education (certifications, licenses): Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or similar discipline(s) required. Required knowledge, skill and abilities Minimum of 7 years' Human Resources experience or 3 years' direct experience as Human Resources Business Partner required. Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce a plus. Experience providing HR services in a Union environment a plus. SPHR/PHR Certification preferred.Physical demands, environment and schedule: Work is normally performed in a shared office environment. Ability to travel up to 10-20%.
