Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients within a medical-surgical unit, ensuring adherence to established standards and promoting optimal patient outcomes. Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing staff while collaborating with healthcare team members to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status by collecting and analyzing relevant clinical data.
• Develop personalized care plans to address individual patient needs and clinical objectives.
• Implement nursing interventions, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to ensure patient safety and recovery.
• Evaluate patient progress toward treatment goals and modify care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to nursing staff and coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
