Licensing Specialist Full Time – Regular – Louisville, KY, US Salary Range: $45,000.00 to $62,000.00 annually Who We Are SAFY, a leader in family preservation and child welfare, has a mission to preserve families and secure futures. With 500 employees across seven states, we provide services including family preservation and reunification, behavioral health, therapeutic foster care, adoption services, and older youth services. What You’ll Do Apply knowledge of foster parent onboarding and retention rules, regulations, and organizational policies. Develop and train prospective foster parents in understanding youth needs and home environment; provide ongoing training and support to licensed foster homes. Establish and maintain supportive relationships with youth, foster parents, community organizations, referring agencies, and SAFY stakeholders. Conduct home visits to assess families and provide recommendations for training and growth. Develop comprehensive home studies in accordance with local regulatory and contractual requirements. Assist families with paperwork and maintain accurate records in appropriate systems. Complete annual evaluations and ensure compliance for re-certification of foster parents and homes. Collaborate with internal partners on recruitment, retention, and support strategies. Provide information on education, meetings, support groups, retention activities, and on‑one discussions. Maintain positive, culturally responsive relationships with all SAFY staff, clients, families, and vendors. Work non‑traditional hours, including weekends, as required. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Assist the division with recruitment efforts. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, child and family studies, or related field. At least two years of relevant experience in human services or child welfare. Comfortable with public speaking and facilitation of group training. Strong documentation, interpersonal, assessment, communication, collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance coverage for travel. Current certification in First Aid/CPR and de‑escalation training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and other required software. SAFE Home Certification preferable. What We Offer Targeted hiring range: $45,000.00 to $62,000.00. Compensation is commensurate with experience, education, and licensure.
