Children’s Minister Aurora Church of Christ

Aurora Church of Christ Children’s Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading a Christ-centered ministry for children ages 4 through 12. This role focuses on nurturing spiritual growth, supporting families, and creating a safe, engaging environment where children can learn about God’s love and truth. Key Responsibilities Ministry Leadership & Vision Develop and implement a comprehensive children’s ministry aligned with the church’s mission and values Create a welcoming, spiritually enriching environment for children and families Plan and oversee Sunday School and Children’s Church classes and special events (VBS, camps, holiday programs) Curriculum & Teaching Select, organize, or develop age-appropriate biblical curriculum that adheres to ACC vision. Ensure all teaching is biblically sound and engaging Volunteer Recruitment & Training Recruit, train, and support volunteers for children’s ministry Provide ongoing encouragement, leadership, and appreciation for volunteers Safety & Administration Maintain a safe and secure environment for all children Ensure compliance with church safety guidelines Family Engagement Partner with parents to support the spiritual growth of their children Communicate regularly with families about events and resources Provide tools and encouragement for faith development at home Outreach & Growth Develop outreach opportunities to connect with children and families in the community Help integrate new families into the church Support church-wide events as needed Qualifications Strong, growing personal faith in Jesus Christ Passion for working with children and families Experience in children’s ministry, education, or a related field preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers Agreement with the vision of Aurora Church of Christ Background check required Work Schedule Part-time:Includes Sundays, outings and special events Reports To:Minister & Church Leadership Goal of the Role: To help children build a strong foundation of faith in Christ, understand God’s Word, and develop a lifelong relationship with Him.
