Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical Acute Care unit serving general medical patients with a variety of diagnoses
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 4–5:1 on day shift, collaborating with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available each shift
• Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients with oxygen requirements up to 6L via nasal cannula, as well as stable BiPAP/CPAP
• Attempt IV starts and coordinate with available unit resources and inpatient phlebotomy team for blood draws
• Collaborate with 24/7 Charge RN, House Supervisor, Hospitalist/Intensivist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy teams
• Float to other units as needed; adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of hospital-based nursing experience
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips
• Compliance with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (preferred for Charge RN consideration)
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
• Experience managing patients on BiPAP/CPAP and interpreting telemetry remotely monitored by a dedicated telemetry department
