Research Analyst (Portuguese Speaking)

Position Overview Corporate Governance Research Analyst – Latin America Benchmark Research team, specialized focus on the Brazilian market. The analyst performs governance research and completes proxy analyses for shareholder meetings of publicly‑traded companies in Latin America. Responsibilities Read and understand company filings with the Brazilian Securities Regulator (CVM) and other publicly‑disclosed documents to distill corporate governance, financial, and industry information. Draft analyses and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS STOXX's publicly‑disclosed policy guidelines. Verify that accurate company data (financials, directors’ profiles, remuneration) has been collected for proxy analysis reports. Write timely and accurate reports using quantitative and qualitative analysis, effectively communicating highly technical information to clients. Produce thought‑leadership papers on ISS STOXX data and market developments related to regulatory changes and corporate governance trends. Contribute to the development of policy guidelines for Latin American markets. Collaborate on the training of contingent employees and develop comprehensive training materials. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher; relevant work experience preferred in governance, finance, accounting, law, or related corporate fields. Fluency in Portuguese (required) and English (required). Fluency in Spanish is desirable. Familiarity with Latin American regulators and stock exchanges, especially the Brazilian market. Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of corporate governance issues. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Organizational skills, attention to detail, data‑management familiarity, and a self‑driven work ethic. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environment. Team‑oriented mindset and ability to communicate with various internal parties. Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks of the Latin America proxy season (March & April). Additional Information Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule, minimum three days per week in the office. Peak season March–mid‑April, with overtime including evenings or weekends. Location: Washington, DC – modern open‑floor workspace on Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest DC with onsite gym and convenient metro access. Compensation: Base pay range $65,000–$75,000 per year in Washington, DC, with additional performance‑based incentives and eligibility for bonuses.
