Work Environment

This position is based onsite in a hospital setting, where you will work closely with a broad interdisciplinary team, including physicians, licensed physical therapists, and nursing staff. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.
• Provide hands-on patient care, such as supervised therapeutic exercises, gait training, and activities to improve balance and mobility.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care strategies as necessary based on their feedback and clinical responses.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and wellness strategies to support ongoing recovery.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and wellness staff, to ensure comprehensive care delivery that addresses the physical, emotional, and social aspects of each patient.
• Maintain compliance with documentation requirements dictated by Medicare and facility regulations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in patient records.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA, you will primarily work with adult patients in varying stages of recovery, including those post-surgery, recovering from injuries, or managing chronic conditions. Your role will involve assisting geriatric populations, focusing on enhancing their mobility, strength, and overall physical health, particularly as they strive to maintain their independence in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Virginia.
• Basic life support (CPR) certification or a commitment to obtain upon hire.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and team members alike.
• A genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors and individuals undergoing rehabilitation.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred, particularly in hospital or rehabilitation settings.
• Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals in long-term care facilities is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
