Supervisory Investigative Analyst, GS-1805-15
Help fight fraud and make a difference for America's students, schools, and taxpayers. We're ED OIG, an independent oversight office within ED charged with identifying and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse, and ensuring accountability and effectiveness in ED programs. Often referred to as America's watchdogs, it's the OIG's job to help ensure that the hard-earned tax dollars that fund ED programs and operations are used as intended by law, achieve the desired results, and reach the intended recipients. The OIG conducts audits and reviews of issues involving Federal student aid, K-12 schools, charter schools, special education, career and technical education, adult education, and more. The OIG also conducts criminal and civil investigations into suspected fraudulent activities by schools, colleges, universities, contractors, subcontractors, school officials-any entity or individual that participates in ED programs or receives ED funding. As a Supervisory Investigative Analyst, GS-1805-15, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
- As the senior manager for the office, directs, trains, and leads a cross-functional team of data scientists, IT auditors, financial analysts, and investigative analysts to meet organizational goals.
- Provides leadership in the development and management of data strategy, policy, risk management and governance, utilizing methodologies, process, algorithms, and systems to extract insights about fraud.
- Oversees a comprehensive portfolio of data-related products and services, including reports; advanced statistical analysis; dynamic visualizations; dashboard and tool development, and support for evidence-based decision-making.
- Communicates technical statistical methods, findings and data insights into actionable, non-technical policy or strategic recommendations.
