Job Title
8-11 Years Experience in the following:
- Must have in-depth knowledge of CICS, DB2, COBOL, JCL, VSAM and other mainframe tools and utilities
- Must have experience and in-depth understanding of our Claims Processing Systems.
- Must have experience running disaster recovery exercises involving a Mainframe Application
- Must have experience in monitoring and troubleshooting a mainframe system utilizing tools such as strobe and DB2 trace.
- Must have PEGA and COBOL development experience with ability to develop unit/integration test cases.
- Must have ability to understand and work with code developed by other developers.
- Must have ability to work independently.
- Must have experience with web services and understanding of RESTful/SOA Services.
- Must have experience with Agile methodologies Scrum and Kanban.
- Must have strong experience in continuous integration within DevOps environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English).
- Must have the capability to manage the Compiler upgrades and PTF's from IBM to ensure applications are working without issues
Purpose:
Supports the organization by being part of a matrixed team of software development professionals providing application development expertise on a mixture of development platforms using different languages and environments to facilitate the on-time delivery of projects and major release upgrades for highly complex, mission critical systems.
Lead Accountabilities:
- Performs and often leads the detail technical design, coding, code review and testing of new applications and enhancements of existing applications.
- May at times lead a mixed team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of multiple applications.
- Assists manager in all development activities.
- Stays current in new IT technologies to maintain a high level of subject matter expertise.
- Provides mentoring and coaching to team members and other technical areas as appropriate.
- Recognized as subject matter expert for complex and critical technologies.
- Trains new Associates and other Contingent Workers on departments use of various technologies and operating procedures.
- Provide estimates of work, assist with resource/time allocations, properly follow project life cycle, develop and document technical designs, support testing cycles and support software implementations.
- Meet with clients and other members of the project team to identify or clarify requirements to better achieve desired outcomes.
- Recommend technical solutions to project team and/or offer alternative solutions when appropriate.
- Facilitates communication between all key IT groups and the client community through meeting participation.
Production Support:
- Provides technical assistance to Production Support teams, Product Delivery teams, Operations team, Business Clients and the Help Desk in order to resolve Test and Production problems.
- Provides 24x7 on call support for assigned systems and software when necessary.
This position is also subject to being "on call" for emergency situations requiring immediate resolution. Local travel may be required.
Qualifications: Required:
- This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Lead or Senior Software Engineer using a mix of the following technologies and methodologies; Web Services Pega PRPC WebSphere AppDynamics MQSeries, MQ/NDM SoapUI ALM Restful API Jira JASON DevOps EDI/X.12 Scripting and automation tools and techniques Topaz Workbench or Eclipse z/Connect XML DB2 Cobol/CICS Xpediter, FileAid, AbendAid Dimensions/Changeman
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 10 years of application development experience in a variety of environments
- Responsible for various stages of full life cycle development of enterprise level software.
- Design, develop, test and configure multitier enterprise software applications
- A minimum of 5 years of actual experience working with the top US healthcare Companies
- Experience developing in both Agile and Waterfall environments
- Knowledge and experience working in the Healthcare Payer domain
Practical knowledge of the following:
- ICD-10
- Dental MAC
- CARC/RARC Usage and Maintenance
- Claims Adjudication and its use of edit and deferral processing
- Eligibility Processing
- Medicare Processing
- Benefits Determination
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) knowledge and experience with web services
- Developing with Containers to accommodate large claim processing
- Experience leading Disaster Recovery testing with Hot Site
Abilities:
- Candidates should have experience working with teams in a heavily matrixed organization and show a propensity for dealing with the user community in a highly professional, non-technical manner.
- Flexibility is essential to this position (candidates should be willing to learn new technologies, to implement new processes, and be able to take direction) and needs to be available to work afterhours, weekends, and holidays as required.
This position will require strong application development and analytical skills, as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly based on prior experiences with similar tools and an understanding of infrastructure.
The candidate must be able to work independently, assist team members in their development strategies, prepare reports to track progress as required, conduct training, and prepare documentation and training materials as required. Good organizational and documentation skills will be essential to ensuring developed source code can be interpreted by other members of the development team. Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical terminology in a clear and concise manner to clients and colleagues of all levels are critical success factors.
