Director of Technology

Director of TechnologyNorthville Public Schools is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and strategic leader to serve as its Director of Technology. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and serving as a key member of the district leadership team, the Director of Technology is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive technology program that supports the district's educational mission and operational goals.The Director of Technology provides leadership for all aspects of district technology, including technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, user support services, instructional technology integration, data systems, and large-scale technology initiatives. The position oversees technology-related bond projects, capital improvements, and strategic technology planning to ensure equitable, reliable, and future-focused technology resources for students and staff.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and implement a district-wide technology vision aligned with the Board of Education's goals and the district's strategic plan.Lead long-range technology planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.Monitor emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and operational effectiveness.Serve as the district's primary technology advisor to district leadership and the Board of Education.Technology Infrastructure & OperationsDirect the planning, implementation, maintenance, and security of all district technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, wireless systems, telecommunications, cloud services, and data systems.Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of technology systems across all district facilities.Oversee device lifecycle management for student, staff, and administrative technology resources.Lead cybersecurity initiatives, risk management efforts, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity procedures.User Support ServicesManage district technology support services for students, staff, administrators, and families.Establish service standards and performance expectations for technology support operations.Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and delivery of exceptional customer service.Supervise and evaluate technology personnel and contracted service providers.Instructional TechnologyCollaborate with curriculum and instructional leaders to support effective integration of technology into teaching and learning.Lead implementation and support of instructional software, learning management systems, digital resources, and educational technology initiatives.Coordinate professional learning opportunities that build staff capacity in the effective use of technology.Promote equitable access to technology tools and digital learning resources.Project and Bond ManagementProvide leadership for technology-related bond projects, capital improvements, and other large-scale technology initiatives.Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and implementation plans.Coordinate work with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors.Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with district purchasing procedures and applicable regulations.Manage technology-related grants and other funding opportunities when applicable.Data Systems & ComplianceOversee the administration and integration of the student information system (MiStar), district information systems and databases.Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to data privacy, cybersecurity, accessibility, and technology operations.Establish and maintain technology policies, procedures, and standards.Support data-informed decision-making through effective system management and reporting.*Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee**QualificationsRequiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in technology management.Experience managing enterprise technology infrastructure, support services, and technology projects.Demonstrated success leading teams, developing budgets, and managing complex initiatives.Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network architecture, cloud technologies, and educational technology systems.Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.PreferredMaster's degree in a related field.Experience in a K-12 educational environment.Experience managing technology components of bond-funded or capital improvement projects.Relevant industry certifications such as CETL, PMP, CISSP, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent credentials.Experience with student information systems, instructional platforms, and educational data systems.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrategic planning and organizational leadership.Technology infrastructure design and management.Cybersecurity and risk management.Project and vendor management.Budget development and fiscal oversight.Staff supervision, coaching, and evaluation.Customer service and stakeholder engagement.Effective written and verbal communication.Ability to build collaborative relationships across all stakeholder groups.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Method of ApplicationInterested applicants should apply online and include a letter of intent, resume, transcripts, certificates, references and letters of recommendation to: Ms. Rebecca Pek, Asst.
