Staff Development Nurse (RN/LPN) - Full Time - Greene County

Location: George Regional Health & Rehab Department: Nursing Education / Staff Development Schedule: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Nursing Position Summary: George Regional Health & Rehab is seeking a dedicated and motivated Staff Development Nurse to support the education, training, and professional development of nursing staff. This position may be filled by a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Staff Development Nurse is responsible for coordinating orientation programs, conducting in-service education, maintaining training records, and supporting competency development to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance. The role also oversees the Nurse Aide Training Program and serves as a resource for staff education and development. Responsibilities: Coordinate and conduct orientation for new nursing employees Assess educational needs and develop ongoing staff training programs Plan and implement in-service education and competency validation programs Maintain staff education records and training documentation Assist with infection control, safety, disaster preparedness, and regulatory education initiatives Participate in the development and oversight of student affiliate and volunteer programs Assist with the Nurse Aide Training Program in accordance with state and federal regulations Interview and assist with the hiring and training of nurse aide candidates Assist with completion of MDS documentation as assigned Collaborate with nursing leadership to support quality improvement and staff development initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Qualifications: Current Mississippi RN or LPN license required Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Minimum of one year of long-term care experience required Experience in staff education, training, or leadership preferred Must complete the Train-the-Trainer Program (or be willing to obtain) Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, and long-term care regulations Strong communication, teaching, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work with staff across all shifts and departments #J-18808-Ljbffr
