Systems Administrator with TS/SCI, FS (Systems Administration, Associate) (West Mclean)

Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking a Systems Administrator with TS/SCI, FS (Systems Administration, Associate) to support a federal government client in McLean, VA. The Systems Administrator shall support the day-to-day operations of computer systems. This support includes installation, configuration, maintenance, failure analysis and recovery, performance monitoring, data storage management and security management of laboratory computer systems.This position currently requires a fully on-site schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. This position is currently unfunded and is being posted in anticipation of a future contract award and funding approval. While candidates may be contacted for pre-screening, any hiring decisions will be contingent upon funding availability and final program requirements or client approval. Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities of the on-site system administrator include:Responding to inquiries concerning all aspects of computer and network operationsCreating and managing accountsInstalling, configuring, updating and removing system and application softwareInstalling, configuring and removing system hardware (servers, workstation, monitors, printers, plotters, scanners, transceivers, network interface cards, network physical links, etc.)Configuring NFS, NIS, SAMBA, etc. remote hosting/sharing protocolsBacking up and restoring filesMonitoring and allocating system resources (central processing unit (CPU), memory and storage space)Auditing system log files to include compliance auditsDiagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software problemsDocumenting hardware and software configurations, maintenance history, backup historyImplementing up-to-date system policies and proceduresUpdating/patching system operating systemsUtilizing existing DEVOPS capabilities such as the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) to shorten systems development life cycleImplementing and managing new and existing Active Directory servicesSupporting systems scanning and working with the ISSE to reporting findingsTravel NoneRequired Qualifications Seven (7) years' experience as a system administratorFive (5) years or more of total intelligence community relevant work experience as a system administratorFamiliarity with software configuration management tools such as Puppet, ansible, etc.Proficiency with at least one, preferably two, administrative languages (shell, PERL, Tk, Powershell, Python, etc.)Functional knowledge of UNIX, LINUX and Windows operating systems in the conduct of their dutiesFunctional knowledge of distributed and clustered computing environments, cloud computing and virtualization environmentsEducationBachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or four (4) years equivalent experience. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package.
