Work with an experienced small team of engineers to lead capital projects for original equipment designs and purchased equipment designs and purchased equipment installations. Key Responsibilities Manage capital equipment projects, estimate project costs, develop project designs, then manage the projects from concept to completion.Track costs and forecast spending on a monthly basisLead the design and build of new cutting-edge production equipmentWork with Development teams to evaluate new technologies and incorporate them into processesWork with Production and Process Engineering to design, modify or improve existing production equipmentDevelop a broad understanding of the equipment and technologies used to make Ceramic capacitorsWork with external suppliers to evaluate and design new equipmentGo to production locations for installation, startup and trainingPerform basic to intermediate mechanical equipment design with some understanding of tolerancing, materials and fasteners is a plusRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering disciplinesExperience in mechanical engineering, equipment design and construction skills a plusExperience with hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and vision systems is a plusUnderstanding of basic material science and ceramic material propertiesBe able to communicate with suppliers and plant personnel, both in face to face and remote conferencing situations, potentially across language variations.Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesProficient with using MS Office and remote collaboration using MS TeamsProficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is a plusThis position remains a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.Location & Work Type Simpsonville, SC – United States Full Time Travel - 10% of domestic and international travel This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
