Associate

Censeo Consulting Group is a Washington D.C.-based management consulting firm dedicated to helping public sector and non‑profit clients build operational excellence, deliver better outcomes, and lower costs. Position We are looking for an eager, driven Associate with experience in people management, communication, facilitation, problem‑solving, and analysis to guide our teams in developing impactful solutions for federal clients. The Associate will act as a project and program manager and emerging firm leader, managing day‑to‑day activities of multiple project teams, working closely with clients to understand their needs, developing strategies, and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities Work with consulting teams on all aspects of client engagements from scope definition to delivery. Contribute thought leadership by engaging in the development of recommendations. Provide written and verbal communication specific to the engagement. Develop project deliverables with small client teams. Build and maintain client relationships across the client account, understanding requirements and identifying and resolving delivery risks before they occur. Coaching team members on improvement opportunities and providing regular project‑based feedback. Derive sound business insights from analysis of complex issues. Recommend actionable solutions for work streams and provide input to recommendations for the entire case or significant subsets. Ideal Candidate BA/BS with a strong academic background. 5+ years of experience in operations improvement, corporate strategy, or a related field. 1+ year of post‑MBA management consulting experience preferred. Understanding of the requirements, environmental factors, constraints, and risks impacting federal clients. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and delivering an exceptional client experience. Demonstrated effectiveness applying program management practices across all phases of programs from inception to completion. Strong creative problem‑solving, analytical, and quantitative skills. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials. Strong understanding of the federal contracting industry. Master’s degree in business, engineering, education, social science, or a related field. Location Censeo Consulting Group is headquartered in Washington D.C. We operate in a hybrid setting, offering flexibility to work from home or at the downtown office, with occasional travel for client meetings. Compensation Salary range: $116,000 - $140,000. Expected travel: 0–10 %; may increase based on business needs. Exempt, full‑time position.
