Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $22.00hr - $27.20hr


Job Overview:


The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients who present for routine healthcare or diagnostic insights. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, establishing trust and confidence while explaining procedures and executing skillful, safe, and accurate blood draws. The candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, patient confidentiality, and accurate data entry.


Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.


Maintain a safe and professional environment.


Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.


Maintain required records and documentation.


Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.


Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric care.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience required; 1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
