Role Overview

As a Building Code Compliance Expert, you will leverage your deep knowledge of building codes, permitting, and inspections to shape next‑generation AI systems. Your expertise will ensure accurate, real‑world input for construction compliance, helping models learn to reason and perform in complex regulatory environments. This is a unique opportunity to apply your professional skills in a remote, flexible setting while influencing the future of AI in construction and development.

Key Responsibilities

Plan review : Conduct detailed assessments of architectural and engineering plans for compliance with building codes.
Blueprint interpretation : Analyze construction drawings, permit documents, and zoning requirements.
Compliance analysis : Provide clear reasoning and recommendations for code‑related scenarios.
Violation identification : Detect permitting issues, code violations, and regulatory concerns across residential and commercial projects.
Cross‑functional collaboration : Work with architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and permitting teams to resolve compliance questions.
Documentation : Deliver clear written reports and explanations of code interpretations.
AI training support : Provide domain expertise to enhance AI systems in construction compliance.

Required Skills Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in building codes, permitting, inspections, zoning, or plan review .
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
Experience with residential and/or commercial construction projects .
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills .
Ability to work independently in a remote environment , managing multiple assignments.
Proven success collaborating with cross‑functional project teams .

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as ICC, NFPA, or state‑issued licenses .
Experience working with municipal building departments or permitting offices .
Background in code enforcement, plan review, virtual inspections, or compliance consulting .
Education or professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or land use development .
