Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active nursing license required prior to start date Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, AWHONN Beginner preferred Must-Have: Experience in Labor and Delivery Ability to assist with high-risk deliveries Knowledge of the use of fetal heart monitoring Ability to manage patient care in a high-volume setting Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment managing labor and delivery patients. Experience with charting systems such as Epic is preferred. The RN will be responsible for the administration of medications and monitoring fetal heart rates. The role includes assisting in both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. The nurse will support breastfeeding and provide lactation support to new mothers. Strong assessment skills for newborns are essential. The RN will participate in continuing education and stay updated on best practices in maternal care. Must be willing to work every other weekend and be available for on-call duties. Candidates should exhibit effective communication and teamwork skills. Floating to other units may be required as needed.
