Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring robotics and well-rounded specialty experience.

Details

Operating Room unit in a short-term acute care, nonprofit, Level II Trauma Center with 385 staffed beds

Performs high acuity ortho, neuro, and general trauma cases around the clock

Handles 60-70 cases per day across 20-22 rooms

Day shift schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM

On-call required, up to four 8-hour shifts per 4-week cycle

No floating required outside the unit

Uses Epic for charting

Common equipment includes DaVinci Xi and DaVinci 5 Robots, Doppler, Ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, video systems, lasers, various stapling systems, Hana and Jackson tables, Neuro beds with attachments, and Cryoablation

Scrubs provided on-site

Requirements

Active or pending Washington RN license accepted

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Minimum 2 years of Level I-II trauma experience required, 3 years preferred

Must be very comfortable in a Level II trauma unit with well-rounded experience across specialties including Ortho (including total joints), Neuro (including craniotomies), Gen/Trauma, Vascular, Endovascular/Hybrid, GYN/Uro, ENT/Plastics, Eyes, and Robotics

1 year of Epic experience required

Must have DaVinci and DaVinci 5 robotic experience, as well as laparoscopic experience

Majority of case experience should be level 3-4 complexity for adult and pediatric general cases

Must be able to independently circulate major cases in a full-service operating room

Scrub experience is a plus

Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted

No more than one DUI allowed for consideration

Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor or charge nurse

Additional Information

Responsibilities include independently circulating major surgical cases across a wide range of specialties

Unit is part of a DaVinci Robotics Center of Excellence with 4 actively used robot rooms including a new DaVinci 5

Candidates must be willing to float within the health system as needed; RiverBend travelers may occasionally float to University District

Local candidates not accepted; candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility

RTO requests are considered on a case-by-case basis with no identified limitations, though must be disclosed and approved prior to contract signing

Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Candidates without an active Washington license in hand may experience a start date delay of up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
