Job Description

This role focuses on precision mechanical assembly, equipment troubleshooting, and production operations within a high-performance manufacturing environment. You will use a wide range of hand tools and diagnostic equipment to assemble, inspect, and maintain complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, following detailed work instructions, drawings, and schematics to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision mechanical assembly using hand tools, fasteners, torque wrenches, pneumatics, and hydraulics in accordance with work instructions and engineering standards.
• Read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical and mechanical schematics to execute assembly and production tasks accurately.
• Disassemble, troubleshoot, and reassemble equipment and components, ensuring proper function and alignment after maintenance or repair.
• Use multimeters and apply Ohms Law principles to diagnose electrical and electronic issues in production equipment.
• Measure components with calipers and micrometers to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, following standardized manufacturing processes.
• Conduct inspections of parts, assemblies, and equipment to ensure quality, identify defects, and maintain high production standards.
• Follow established processes and procedures while actively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.
• Provide clear examples of process improvements or technical solutions that enhance speed, accuracy, or reliability in production operations.
• Support general labor and production activities as needed, including material handling and basic machine operation.
• Adhere to safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve technical issues, share best practices, and meet production goals.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, fasteners, torque wrenches, pneumatics, and hydraulics for mechanical assembly and equipment disassembly.
• Ability to accurately read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical/mechanical schematics.
• Skill in troubleshooting equipment using multimeters and applying Ohms Law principles to diagnose electrical issues.
• Competence in using calipers and micrometers to perform precise measurements and verify dimensional accuracy.
• Experience operating machinery and performing general production and inspection tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong focus on following standardized processes and maintaining quality and compliance in all production activities.
• ITAR-eligible status as required for this role.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work all shifts on an AWS schedule, including weekends, with reliable transportation to the facility.
• Capability to stand, climb, wear PPE, lift up to 25 lbs, and work comfortably in a loud production environment.
• At least 1+ year of hands-on technical experience in manufacturing, maintenance, trades, automotive, military, or vocational settings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in a related field is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP systems.
• Experience with root cause analysis techniques such as 5-Why.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and forklift operation.
• Demonstrated stability in work history, with thoughtful reasoning for any frequent job changes.
• Background in general labor, general production, machine operation, and inspection is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role is based in an indoor, climate-controlled production facility with a loud but well-managed manufacturing environment. Team members wear appropriate personal protective equipment and may be required to stand, climb, and lift up to 25 lbs during their shift. The schedule follows an AWS (Alternative Work Schedule) with 12-hour shifts: A shift runs 5:00am5:00pm SundayWednesday, B shift runs 5:00am5:00pm ThursdaySunday, C shift runs 5:00pm5:00am SundayWednesday, and D shift runs 5:00pm5:00am ThursdaySunday. You will work with a variety of mechanical and diagnostic tools, including fasteners, pneumatics and hydraulics, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches, within a structured and safety-focused production setting

This is a Permanent position based out of Bastrop, TX.

The pay range for this position is $35000.00 - $73000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
