Garage Door Technician

What You’ll Do: The Garage Door Technician's role involves conducting repairs and installations for residential and light commercial garage doors and openers, while delivering top‑notch customer service to all clients. Daily Responsibilities: Conduct inspections to assess the condition of garage doors, openers, and related components. Perform repairs and maintenance on garage doors, including replacing springs, cables, rollers, and hinges. Install new garage doors, openers, and associated hardware according to manufacturer specifications. Adjust garage door openers and safety sensors to ensure proper functionality. Troubleshoot issues with garage door operation, such as alignment problems or electronic malfunctions. Provide customers with recommendations for repairs or upgrades based on their needs and budget. Educate customers on proper maintenance techniques to prolong the lifespan of their garage doors. Respond promptly to service calls and schedule appointments with customers. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on garage door systems. Keep accurate records of service performed, parts used, and customer interactions. Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services. Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and service club agreements. Understand your service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals. Show yourself as a professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. Maintain a clean, organized job site and a well‑inventoried truck. Participate actively in all training exercises and weekly meetings. Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, summary of findings, and customer reviews. Qualifications A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for this position. A minimum of 2 years residential service experience is preferred.
