Technical Support Specialist

Salary: $51,834 - 77,750 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for three to five years of similar or related experience.
• We prefer experience and knowledge in SQL.
• We prefer an associate degree in IT or Computer Science, or an equivalent background with ongoing education toward a bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• We need strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential discussions, resolve first-level conflicts, build relationships, and gain cooperation with diplomacy and tact.
• We require experience supporting PCs and related hardware and software.
• We value knowledge of SQL Server and Jaspersoft reporting.
• We prefer experience with batch and workflow programming.
• Networking experience is a plus.
• We need the ability to troubleshoot issues over a WAN in remote locations.
• We require the ability to install, troubleshoot, and support personal computers, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products, and network/data communications software and hardware.
• We expect familiarity with basic programming logic, processing concepts and terminology, and processing controls.
• We may require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and the ability to bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces behind server racks.
• We expect business attire in our professional office environment.

• We provide ongoing help desk support to all credit union staff.
• We perform daily computer operations, including backups, tape verification, system monitoring, period-end processing, and report printing.
• We verify successful processing runs, assess outcomes, recommend process improvements, and test procedures.
• We develop reports using SQL Server queries and reporting software.
• We install approved end-user hardware and software as needed.
• We create, maintain, and remove user logins across IT-managed applications and control user access to our systems.
• We monitor system processes and processing activity.
• We ensure security patches and updates are applied based on Microsoft and vendor notifications.
• We escalate issues to the Network & Systems Manager or SVP of IT when appropriate.
• We maintain administrative control over end-user hardware and software assets through inventories, files, and logs.
• We work with IT leadership to identify and design system improvements that support business continuity and efficiency.
• We monitor equipment, event logs, and system activity for anomalies.
• We troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
• We deliver timely support to end users while considering schedules and deadlines.
• We maintain and monitor backups, archives, and replication status, and test restores when needed.
• We install appropriate hardware and software within required timeframes.
• We propose process, software, or hardware enhancements and alternative solutions for issues that can be improved.
• We collaborate with outside vendors to troubleshoot third-party software and hardware issues.
• We complete daily and period-end processes and reports accurately and on schedule.
• We develop reports based on end-user needs.
• We keep accurate inventories of IT-related equipment.
• We provide accurate, friendly, and professional service to members, associates, and staff.
