Control Systems Engineer

Job Summary Take your next step with Saulsbury Industries. Location: Odessa, Abilene, or Houston, TX. Type: Full Time. Work within the I/E & Control Systems Department on control systems engineering and design for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil & gas industries. Responsibilities Act as a control systems engineer for selected projects. Interact with other engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients (10%). Provide input to the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for designated projects (5%). Work process quality review and drawing approval in the capacity of a lead engineer (20%). Responsible for PLC/DCS programming and HMI configuration (40%). Perform software factory acceptance tests and hardware acceptance tests for the plant control system (25%). Provide man‑hour and equipment estimates for project proposals. Coordinate multiple activities under pressure, remaining self‑motivated and collaborative. Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree. 5+ years of experience in control systems engineering; 10+ years preferred. Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and Wonderware HMI development. DeltaV programming and industrial networking experience are a plus. Self‑learner with willingness to go the extra mile to accomplish tasks. EIT licensure required or ability to obtain licensure after joining. Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup skills. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail‑oriented organizational skills and strong computer proficiency (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to walk the property and lay down yards.
