Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a school support role preferred
• Ability to work effectively with students of various ages and abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to changing classroom needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in education or child development is a plus
• Willingness to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and encouragement to students, both individually and in small groups
• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
• Implement educational and behavioral plans under supervision
• Help create an inclusive, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
• Supervise students during classroom, recess, and lunch periods as needed
• Document observations and progress to assist teaching staff in meeting student goals
• Participate actively in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions
