A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Machinist
Position type: Full-time, Contract
Duration:  12 months, possible extension
Location:  Baltimore Maryland 21226

About the Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled Machinist to join a dynamic maintenance team that keeps critical power generation equipment operating at peak performance. This is more than a traditional machining role—it's an opportunity to solve complex challenges, restore vital equipment, and manufacture custom components that directly support operational excellence.

What You'll Do
As a Machinist, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving power generation assets by:

• Performing maintenance machining and equipment overhauls on critical plant machinery.
• Manufacturing and repairing precision replacement parts to support ongoing operations.
• Operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools, including:
  • Engine Lathes
  • Milling Machines
  • Grinders
  • CNC Equipment
• Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure superior quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshooting machining challenges and developing practical solutions independently or as part of a team.
• Supporting outage and turnaround activities during high-demand operational periods.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of hands-on machining experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Manual machining operations
  • Blueprint interpretation
  • Precision measurement techniques
  • Equipment maintenance and repair machining

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman Machinist certification or apprenticeship completion.
• Experience with:
  • CNC Programming
  • CAD/CAM Software
  • Advanced machining applications

Industry Experience Welcome
While experience in power generation is a plus, it is not required.

• Manufacturing Facilities

Work Schedule & Flexibility
Standard Schedule
Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Peak Operational Periods
During spring and fall outage seasons, schedules may expand to:

• 12-hour shifts
• Day or Night coverage
• Extended overtime opportunities
• Occasional 24/7 operational support
• Successful candidates will be flexible and adaptable to changing business and operational requirements.

Training & Development
Your success starts on day one. New team members participate in a comprehensive onboarding program that includes:

• Safety and Environmental Training
• Equipment Familiarization
• Site-Specific Procedures
• Web-Based Learning Modules
• Additional Training for:
  • Rigging Operations
  • Forklift Operation
  • Specialized Plant Equipment

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*:  $40.00 - $41.37 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
