Job Summary and Qualifications The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. The CNC works with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support patient experience and clinical outcomes. What you will do in this role Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care. Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit in collaboration with the management team. Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service. Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary. Support efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives. Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines. Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License. 3+ years of current nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred. 1 year of medical-surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting. 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferred. Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification. We are an equal opportunity employer.
