High School Security Guard

LOCATION: Fitzgerald High School

WORK YEAR: 2026-2027 School Year; 181 days per year

SALARY: Employed through EDU Staff; $17.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to build positive & appropriate rapport with students
• Experience working with/supervising students
• Physically able to continuously walk the hallways of the building
• Able to effectively prevent and/or intercede in student altercations in the building
• Trained in de-escalation techniques, preferred
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions
• Ability to use good judgment in accordance with policies and procedures
• Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience using general technology equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Supervise conduct of students in all areas within the school and support the staff with student behavior management
• Ensure that students are all following District and school policies and guidelines
• Ensures smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assists students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations as needed including parking lot supervision
• Assist with fire drills and other emergency building evacuations / lock downs
• Maintain security records and protect strict confidentiality of all information
• Supervise lunchroom during all appropriate times as directed
• Inform the building administration of all conduct believed to require student discipline or police contact
• Assist in updating discipline guidelines for students and staff
• Responds to all email, phone, written and verbal communications as directed
• Performs other duties as may be delegated by the building administration
