Role Description

The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site, entry-level position based in Bradenton, FL. This role is designed for a recent graduate or someone early in their construction career who wants to develop the knowledge and experience necessary to manage civil construction projects.

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to support the successful execution of sitework and utility projects. This position provides hands-on exposure to all phases of construction, from preconstruction and project startup through field operations, cost management, change orders, and project closeout.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include reviewing plans and specifications, tracking RFIs and submittals, assisting with project schedules, coordinating material deliveries, maintaining project documentation, tracking quantities and costs, preparing change order documentation, assisting with billing and cost projections, and communicating with field teams and project stakeholders.

The Assistant Project Manager will also spend time in the field developing an understanding of construction means and methods, production, sequencing, equipment, underground utilities, earthwork, and site logistics.

The goal of this position is to develop the technical knowledge, field experience, leadership skills, and financial understanding necessary to progress into a Project Manager role within Digging Deep Construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field preferred.
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; prior full-time construction experience is not required
• Internship, co-op, or previous construction experience is a plus.
• Interest in civil construction, site development, earthwork, and underground utilities.
• Ability and willingness to learn how to read civil plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or other construction management software is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to spend time in the field and develop a practical understanding of how projects are built.
• Ability to take initiative, ask questions, solve problems, and follow assignments through to completion.
