Commercial Service Plumber

Job TitleThe incumbent lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains plumbing systems and related equipment for assigned projects.Base hourly rate of $28/hr - $37/hrKey Tasks & ResponsibilitiesFacilitates positive interactions with customers by resolving questions and concerns to satisfaction.Assembles pipe sections, tubings, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and/or welding equipment.Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water and observes pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine work details, sequence, and procedures.Locates and marks the position of pipe installations, connections, penetrations, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe using hand power tools or machines.Cuts openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.Hangs steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.Repairs plumbing, replaces defective washers, mends broken pipes, and opens clogged drains.Installs underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems.Inspects, troubleshoots, & diagnoses plumbing systems & equipment, such as water heaters, booster & recirc pumps, mixing valves, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and solutions or escalates them appropriately.Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced tradespeople.Conduct StandardsMaintains appropriate Company confidentiality at all times.Protects the assets of the Company and ethically upholds the Code of Conduct & Ethics in all situationsCultivates and promotes the "Hearts & Minds" safety culture.Consistently exemplifies the Core Values of the Company (we CARE, we ACT WITH INTEGRITY, we are INNOVATIVE, and we are ACCOUNTABLE).Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in the field. Jobsite work is likely to entail varying exposure to weather, potentially harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, dangerous machinery, and/or other conditions typically associated with a live construction site.Depending on the work location, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, poor ventilation/lighting, and other hazards or conditions typically associated with a construction job site.Physical Demands(Approximations on a daily basis)Standing, Walking - 4-6 HoursReaching Above Shoulder Height - 4-6 HoursWorking with Body Bent at Waist - 4-6 HoursWorking with Arms Extended at Shoulder Level - 2-4 HoursKneeling, Crawling, Squatting - 4-6 HoursPushing, Pulling - 2-4 HoursTwisting, Turning - 2-4 HoursClimbing Ladders, Stairs - 2-4 HoursLifting, Carrying without Assistance (Maximum) - 50 PoundsTravelThis position may be required to travel between jobs on a periodic basis as needed.Minimum QualificationsGraduation from high school, vocational school, or training equivalent.5+ years of mechanical contracting and service plumber experience.Must be drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of service plumbing procedures.Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.Demonstrated understanding of the use of related tools, such as snakes, scopes, cameras, pro-press & mega press systems, & jetting equipment.Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions under limited supervision and identify general safety hazards.Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.General knowledge of the hazards of the trade and necessary precautionary measures.Willingness and ability to work nights and overtime on an as-needed basis.Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships.Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.Must have a valid driver's license.Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.Preferred QualificationsRigging and Signaling Certification.Forklift Certification.Aerial and Scissor Lift Certification.Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training.Current First Aid/CPR Certification.Backflow Certification.
