Overview Carrollton Springs-Behavioral Health Hospital, Carrollton, TexasRegistered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health – Full‑time nights. This role supports patients through assessment, planning, and delivery of high‑quality care, while leading and monitoring nursing staff during shifts. Responsibilities Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs. Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions. Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient. Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record. Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient. Conduct timely and accurate QI assessments. Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies. Oversee and supervise the shift, delegating tasks such as group work, observation, and meal supervision. Ensure staff follows nursing policies and procedures and delivers exemplary patient care. Monitor patient for changes of condition and respond accordingly, including notifying the physician. Follow hospital policy for medication administration. Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients. Deliver quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed. Assist/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients. Qualifications Associate's degree in nursing required. Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations. Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, preferred: chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients. Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations. CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and work in a stressful environment.
