About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – PICU / 12-Hour Nights

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a 16-bed PICU serving a diverse pediatric population including respiratory, cardiovascular, surgical, medical, oncology, and trauma patients
• Manage ventilator and trach patients, including high flow, CPAP, and BiPAP respiratory support, as well as fresh trach and post-surgical patients
• Perform and manage aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, Foley insertion, and G-tube/J-tube care
• Support CRRT management using Prismax following unit-based training (assigned primarily to core staff; travelers with prior experience may be considered)
• Float as needed to MedSurg, ED, or NICU in a Helping Hands or Constant Observer capacity
• Document and coordinate care using Epic EMR (preferred)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Proficiency in aseptic/sterile techniques, ventilator/trach management, suctioning, feeding tube management, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, and drip management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CRRT experience with Prismax strongly preferred
• CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) experience preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Familiarity with congenital heart defect patient populations and ECMO environments
