Motor Vehicle TechnicianJob Objective: Repair, customize, maintain, or overhaul both customer and dealer owned motor vehicles as close to the allotted time schedule as possible with excellent qualityQualifications:Driver's License (DL)High school diploma (or equivalent)Factory authorized training program (i.e. MMI Service School)—or equivalent work experienceAdditional Criteria:Read and comprehend instructions and informationStrong communication skillsAbility to meet company's production and quality standardsPossess/own both basic and special tools to properly diagnose and service products as specified by Service ManagerGeneral Expectations:Devote oneself to insuring customer satisfactionInquire about management, production, and quality requirements established by the companyDevelop and maintain effective listening skillsUnderstand and follow company rules, policies and expectationsEstablish personal performance goals consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet goalsUnderstand terminology of business and remain current with technology changes in products and serviceKnow and comprehend federal, state, and local requirements which govern the company's businessAttend company meetings as requiredParticipate in performance managementUphold company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreementsFollow lawful directions from supervisorsInteract well with others and positively influence employee moraleWork evening, weekend, and holiday work hours as requiredMaintain professional personal appearanceJob-Specific Responsibilities:Prioritize for 100% productivity goals and keep close to goal as possibleUse factory specifications as standard in all repair, service, and customization workProvide excellent customer service for all customers in any area of the dealership, specifically offering dependable vehicle serviceReceive service assignments from service consultant or Service ManagerComplete repairs within specified time parametersDetermine parts needed for particular job and submit request immediatelyInform service consultant or Service Manager of any supplemental work and/or delays to estimated completion timeAid service consultant as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with customers to build customer loyalty providing outstanding serviceMaintain clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping shop neat and organizedComplete and file paperwork after every completed jobKeep technical qualifications current by completing required training programsPresent customers' vehicles in pristine condition upon completion of work orderReduce and/or eliminate return repairs by completing each job thoroughly and completely to enforce excellent customer service
