Responsibilities SPA is looking for a AI/ML Engineer with Space Domain experience in Chantilly, VA to support a very dynamic and innovative space program office. This postion supports the operational readiness, integration, sustainment, and performance of space-based systems throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will work with the modeling and simulation team to conduct a wide variety of analyses in support of government satellite programs in Earth's orbit. You will work to develop new Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for applications, including using optical and radar space-surveillance sensors to recognize different types of satellites, scheduling space surveillance sensor networks to find, recognize, and track maneuvering satellites, and determining which activities satellites should undertake.This work will include coordinating with satellite designers and operations planners, working with experts in astrodynamics, sensors, AI/ML, and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. Qualifications Required Qualifications:US Citizenship with TS/SCI + Poly clearance at date of applicationPlease discuss specific polygraph requirements with an SPA Talent Acquisition professionalBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Math, or a related technical field5+ years of experience supporting spacecraft operations, systems integration, mission operations, satellite systems, or related aerospace and defense programsExperience supporting operational environments involving spacecraft systems, ground systems, and mission planning systemsDemonstrated experience analyzing operational data and developing metrics, dashboards, or performance reporting toolsUse programming languages such as Python, C++, or others to leverage existing analysis tools and develop new onesConduct independent trade studies and technical assessmentsReview and validate algorithms and results provided by external teamsDevelop and optionally present actionable technical briefingsFlexible schedule: On-site core collaboration hours from 10am to 3pmAbility to report to designated work location in Chantilly, up to full time, based on the needs of the customerDesired Qualifications: Masters Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Math, or related technical fieldExperience in satelitte orbits and tragectories Experience working with High Power Computer systems Pay Range Information At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent.
