Description:
Emergency Services Department seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
The position requires a strong background in Triage and emergency care.
Candidates should be proficient in handling various emergency medical situations.
The facility has 18 beds, including 4 trauma bays, all private.
There are 2 fast-track rooms in the department.
A designated triage area is available for patient assessment.
RNs will work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 or 5:1.
Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, diabetes, hypertension, and minor injuries.
RNs should be able to titrate drips and manage cardiac medications.
There is a physician available 24/7, with an additional physician during peak hours.
Assigned charge nurses are present to support during less busy periods.
Support staff includes techs and some EMTs to assist with patient care.
Respiratory therapy is available around the clock for treatments and procedures.
The facility uses a central monitoring system for patient observation.
Imaging services are located adjacent to the department for quick access.
Phlebotomy tasks will be shared between RNs and techs.
RNs are required to work every third weekend, with potential holiday shifts based on departmental needs.
Dress code for RNs includes navy or royal blue scrubs.
This role does not require the nurse to take on-call duties.
Travelers may float to the overflow unit as needed.
