Physical Therapist 1

Overview Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 1 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and support our mission of improving and saving lives with compassion and high‑quality care. As part of a leading healthcare organization serving communities across Texas, you will provide evidence‑based physical therapy services to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions in an acute care and/or outpatient setting. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and deliver therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain, and optimize independence and quality of life. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient‑centered care. Conduct standardized assessments, set functional goals, implement therapeutic exercise and manual therapy techniques, provide gait and balance training, recommend and train in the use of assistive devices, and educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies. Document all care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to regulatory, accreditation, and departmental standards. Actively participate in discharge planning by offering recommendations for ongoing therapy needs, equipment, and community resources. Demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, follow established clinical pathways and protocols, and seek guidance from senior therapists as appropriate. Qualifications Licensed Physical Therapist who is patient‑focused, adaptable, and committed to best practices in physical therapy, including the use of outcome measures and evidence‑based interventions.
