People’s flagship brand, PEOPLE, is hiring a Senior Art Director to partner with the Senior Creative Director, marketing, and editorial leads to design high‑quality content and promotional assets for a premium digital app. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders to create elevated designs, maintain intuitive, scalable, and brand‑consistent templates, and support overall content and marketing strategies. Responsibilities Take ownership of assigned design projects and follow established processes to ensure smooth delivery of creative assets. Work alongside the Senior Creative Director to set the PEOPLE App’s overall look and feel, ensuring execution across teams is on brand. Lead the creation of thoughtfully designed digital editorial and marketing content and graphic templates that integrate seamlessly with the App’s UI and overall brand. Collaborate with product design, commerce, and growth teams. Help maintain digital brand guides. Provide creative direction to team members, ensuring brand standards are communicated and creative execution meets expectations. Use stakeholder feedback to design premium visual assets, including digital editorial static and motion designs and content templates. Lead visual direction of marketing, audience engagement, and editorial initiatives. Present design solutions and build consensus among a broad range of stakeholders. Help build and maintain a happy and creative culture within the design team. Participate in brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big‑picture thinking while raising the bar on details. Keep project management tickets up to date; communicate progress, keep files organized, monitor stakeholder communication, and meet deadlines. Essential Job Functions Creative Direction Provide creative direction to team members, ensuring brand standards are communicated and appropriate levels of creative execution are met consistently. Design Use requirements and stakeholder feedback to design premium visual assets, including digital editorial static and motion designs and content templates. Collaborate with Marketing and Editorial Teams Lead visual direction of marketing, audience engagement, and editorial initiatives. Present design solutions and build consensus among stakeholders. Help build and maintain a creative culture within the design team. Participate in brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big‑picture thinking and identify opportunities to raise the bar on details. Process Management Keep project management tickets up to date, communicate progress, keep files organized, monitor stakeholder communication, and meet deadlines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience. Experience: 3‑5 years as an Art Director, 5‑10 years as a designer. Pay Range New York: $115,000 - $130,000 The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
