Tech - First Assist

Job Summary: Provides assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care through exposure, hemostasis, tissue management, and other technical functions. Works closely with the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment and facilitate successful outcomes. Responsibilities: Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring proper visualization of the operative field. Assist in controlling bleeding, harvesting grafts, and closing incisions. Verify availability and setup of surgical equipment and supplies according to the surgeon’s preferences. Maintain the sterile environment of the operating room, including draping and instrument management. Review patient medical records, diagnostic studies, and relevant documentation to support surgical planning. Perform pre- and post-operative tasks to support continuous patient care and safety. Qualifications: Hold a valid Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification. Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Have at least two years of recent experience in the surgical field. Demonstrate scrub experience and training as a surgical tech with first assistant skills. Maintain current licensure and certifications as required by state regulations.
