Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer to support an R&D program focused on the development of advanced digital and high-speed electronic systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, simulation, and testing of FPGA-based solutions incorporating digital signal processing (DSP), high-speed digital design, high-speed communications, and system-on-chip (SoC) architectures.
- The engineer will work closely with Systems Architects, RF/Analog and Digital Circuit Designers, and other ASIC/FPGA engineers to develop innovative, high-performance products. The role will also involve developing automation scripts and processes to improve FPGA development efficiency and reduce development costs.
- This position is primarily focused on FPGA/ASIC design and development and is not a verification-only position .
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop FPGA-based digital systems for advanced R&D programs.
- Develop DSP, high-speed digital, and communication architectures.
- Implement SoC solutions using FPGA-based embedded processors.
- Support integration of COTS control platforms with FPGA systems.
- Perform FPGA design, simulation, integration, and hardware testing.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to improve FPGA development workflows.
- Support high-speed networking and communication architectures.
- Collaborate with Systems, RF/Analog, Digital, ASIC, and FPGA teams.
- Integrate FPGA designs with complex hardware and system-level platforms.
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and system integration.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to junior engineers.
- Contribute to design documentation, configuration management, and development processes.
- Troubleshoot FPGA and system-level hardware/software integration issues.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 9–15 years of relevant experience; or MS with 7–13 years .
- Strong hands-on FPGA design and development background.
- Proficiency with SystemVerilog .
- Experience with FPGA development tools such as:
- Xilinx Vivado
- Intel/Altera Quartus
- Synopsys Synplify
- Experience with HDL simulation, waveform analysis, and coverage tools.
- Experience developing high-speed digital designs and communication systems.
- Familiarity with HIL test environments and FPGA test equipment.
- Experience using JTAG, logic analyzers, and related digital test equipment.
- Experience with version control and configuration management systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, integration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with UVM .
- Proficiency in C/C++ .
- Experience with DSP implementation on FPGA platforms.
- Experience with embedded processors and SoC architectures.
- Experience with high-speed networking concepts and interfaces.
- Experience developing automation scripts for FPGA workflows.
- Experience with COTS-based embedded control platforms.
- Experience providing technical mentorship to junior engineers.
