Construction Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We're hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel equipment in the field. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently on loaders, excavators, graders, and haul trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and full equipment inspections
- Respond to field breakdowns and complete repairs on-site
- Use diagnostic software, schematics, and service manuals
- Perform welding and basic fabrication as needed
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years of heavy equipment diesel mechanic experience
- Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Experience with loaders, excavators, graders, and haul trucks
- Comfortable with diagnostic software and tools
- Own mechanic tools and valid driving record
Preferred Skills:
- Welding and fabrication experience
- John Deere or similar equipment certifications
- Strong ability to work independently in field environments
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Papillion, NE.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
