Lead Residential Installations at M.E. Flow – Lorton

Picture your morning: you scan the day’s install schedule, confirm the right technicians are paired to each job, and fine‑tune the plan so customers get five‑star experiences and your team finishes strong. By mid‑day, you’re reviewing budgets, approving parts orders, and jumping on a quick call to resolve a customer concern. In the afternoon, you huddle with marketing on upcoming promos, coach an installer on best practices, and verify payroll so everyone is paid accurately. Before you head out, you check fleet and tool readiness, update inventory records, and send performance reports to leadership. That’s a day in the life of our Residential HVAC Installation Operations Manager.

M.E. Flow – Lorton, part of Southern Home Services, is growing. We’re hiring a hands‑on leader who elevates people, process, and profit while keeping safety and quality craftsmanship front and center.

What you’ll own

• Champion customer satisfaction: resolve escalations and ensure issues are closed with care.
• Optimize schedules and staffing to maximize productivity and profitability.
• Build and manage budgets; track performance and adjust plans accordingly.
• Oversee ordering, staging, and distribution of materials and equipment for scheduled work.
• Coordinate and expedite parts repairs to reduce project downtime.
• Partner with marketing through research and campaign participation for the department.
• Generate and review reports with management; track departmental KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records for inventory, tools, and vehicles.
• Coach crews on proper material use and quality workmanship standards.
• Audit payroll records to ensure technicians are compensated correctly.
• Ensure technicians have the right tools and that everything is maintained and serviceable.
• Collaborate with dispatch to align the right technician to each service type.
• Assess skill gaps; provide on‑the‑job training, support, and development.
• Lead the Service team: hire, schedule, set priorities, run meetings, counsel, evaluate performance, discipline, and direct work assignments.
• Embrace additional duties as assigned to support the operation.

What you bring

• 5+ years in residential HVAC service and 2+ years in HVAC leadership/management.
• Working knowledge of gas piping, electrical, plumbing, and airflow fundamentals.
• Strong supervisory, communication, computer, and math skills.
• A positive, quality‑driven mindset with strong customer service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.

Physical demands

• Regularly lift 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Climb ladders; access attics and tight spaces; enter crawlspaces; push, carry, and pull; use hand tools; perform fine detailed work.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
• Stand, walk, sit; talk and hear in person and by phone.
• Use hands to handle/feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Regular exposure to extreme heat/cold and adverse weather (wind, rain, ice, snow).
