Location Highgate Corporate Offices Irving, TX Overview Join Highgate this summer for an exciting opportunity with our Select Service Accounting division as an Accounting Intern! Our 2027 Accounting Internship gives you the opportunity to explore the business side of hospitality and learn how hotel accounting supports financial performance across a portfolio. You'll work alongside experienced Accounting professionals, gain exposure to real hotel financials, and begin developing the accounting and analytical skills that help drive accurate reporting and informed business decisions. Our internship begins in June and is based at our Corporate Offices in Irving, TX. Responsibilities Learn how the Accounting team functions at Highgate. Provide support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Assist with reviewing purchase orders for accurate GL coding. Support monthly financial reporting, journal entries, and P&L reviews. Assist with various accounting projects and initiatives. Multitask and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Maintain confidentiality of company and financial information. Qualifications Enrolled in a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree. Minimum Junior status. Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles. Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills. Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Must be organized with the ability to work accurately in a time efficient manner. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to participate in a summer internship program of 10 weeks (June to August). Must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work onsite in Irving, TX. Salary - $20/hour for 40-hour week, with a duration of 10 weeks. For Employees Based in Colorado: 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. For Employees Based in California: 8 paid holidays per year Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO. Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
