Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on exceptional patient care in a diverse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in various patient populations, including cardiac, medical, and oncology cases, and will be comfortable working with a high-volume of post-cath lab procedures. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, kidney problems, respiratory infections, and more. Monitor and care for cardiac patients, including those undergoing procedures such as PCI pre/post care for conditions like heart failure, myocardial infarctions, and atrial fibrillation. Administer medications and manage titratable drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix. Perform essential nursing tasks including tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and post-catheterization checks. Maintain central line care and provide general nursing duties as required. Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on empathy and understanding, particularly for underserved populations. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Experience with reading, interpreting, and measuring cardiac rhythms. Ability to care for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy. Experience with a variety of patient conditions including post-operative, oncology, and critically ill patients. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, given the patient demographic. Work Schedule Shifts available: Days 7 AM - 7 PM; Nights 7 PM - 7 AM. Weekend rotation requirement: Minimum of 2 weekends per month, subject to change based on staffing needs. Additional Information This position requires floating within the scope of practice across the hospital. Scrub color is flexible; staff can wear any color. Experience with Epic electronic medical records system is preferred.
